Team
Jen Jones
Jen is thrilled to join Respect Rx as the Director of Programs and Publicity. A Los-Angeles based journalist and author, Jen has written more than 31 middle-grade non-fiction books just for girls—including "10 Things You Need to Know About Cliques" and "10 Things You Need to Know About Bullies" for Capstone Press. She also has a large body of magazine work, with more than 250 published articles in various lifestyle, celebrity, and fitness outlets. Her next project is a biography of Judy Blume, due for release by Enslow Publishing in July 2008.
Before striking out on her own as a freelance writer, Jen spent four years working as a Website Producer for various talk shows. In her tenure at Telepictures Productions, Jen designed all website content for the Jenny Jones Show, Sharon Osbourne Show, and Larry Elder Show. In recent years, her web clients have also included Sony Pictures Television International and TalentBoom.
Jen is also an experienced educator, having taught various writing classes for MediaBistro and StoryStudio Chicago. In the past, she also coached young girls as a dance and cheerleading instructor. She looks forward to participating in live events and programs with Respect Rx!
As Respect Rx's Director of Programs and Publicity, Jen brings a high degree of experience in media (print and online) event leadership, and girl advocacy to the table. She is excited about this unique opportunity to work closely alongside Courtney Macavinta in empowering girls and women!
